Blog vs Wiki

A blog is where you can give or get option and ideas in something and a Wiki is where you can get or give facts about somethings.

Melissa Gerrt wrote in Celebrity Blogs: The Impact of New Media “Through blogs, people are able to write about topics that interest them and comment freely on what is going on in their lives and in the world around them. More on How to Build YourOwn Wikipedia by Margaret Locher wrote, “By making it easier to gather and share information as well as record discussions about a subject, wikis (familiar as the software behind online encyclopedia Wikipedia) can help people improve their processes and get projects done faster.” We can see that both a Blog and Wiki give you different kind of information. A Wiki is more useful in a big company because it lets co-worker interact with one another without saying a word to each other. In the article by Margaret Loche talks about how a wiki is useful in a company, “Diverse organizations, including businesses, schools and government agencies, are waking up to the benefits of wikis—one of the group of Web-based applications designed to improve information sharing and collaboration known collectively as Web 2.0.”

A blog can be used for collaboration because you have a Blogroll. I think a blogroll would help in a collaboration because you know when someone is working on the blog and what they have wrote. Melissa Gerry wrote, “I think that this is important because it allows new voices to be heard and challenges the established media outlets to compete and raise their levels of coverage.” A blog can be a collaboration of fashion and gossip from two people working on it and even more.

I cannot think of another use for a Wiki because it gives us facts. I think Wiki and Blogs are both good and each one has a different use in the internet.
